“Share Kindness. Children for Children” — With Love from the Children of Bukovyna

At a time when the whole country needs light and support more than ever, the children of Bukovyna once again remind us: kindness lives even in the most challenging times. As part of the charity initiative “Give Kindness. Children for Children,” schoolchildren from Chernivtsi collected more than 350 gifts for children from Chernihiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk regions — those who need warmth and care the most.

The following educational institutions joined the initiative:

• Chernivtsi Lyceum No. 22 named after Anton Kokhanovskyi
• Chernivtsi Lyceum No. 13
• Chernivtsi Gymnasium No. 14
• Chernivtsi Gymnasium No. 5 “Intehral”
• Chernivtsi Lyceum No. 14
• Chernivtsi Lyceum No. 18

These young benefactors became true helpers of St. Nicholas, placing a piece of love and light into every gift.

The gifts were sorted and prepared by an incredible team of partners: the Department for Veteran Policy of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration, Nataliia Filyak, Halyna Dobrovolska, Nataliya Nechayeva-Yuriychuk, Olena Tanasiichuk, Natalia Verstiuk, the Ukrainian People’s House in Chernivtsi, Fr. Vasyl Cheban, volunteers, and coordinator Natalia Heiman.

But these gifts are much more than parcels. They will be delivered to:

• children who have lost their loved ones;
• those whose mothers and fathers are missing;
• families of Heroes defending Ukraine in captivity;
• all the little Ukrainians who need warmth the most today.

This initiative unites children and adults across the country. It reminds us that sometimes it is children who show us, adults, how important it is to share our light.

May every gift become a ray of hope and love.
