As part of the humanitarian project “Winterization,” the distribution of the first winterization kits for vulnerable households has begun in Dnipro. The first families have already received assistance that helps prepare their homes for cold weather, ensure basic living conditions, and stay connected with their loved ones amid the ongoing war.
Today, the war and its devastating consequences remain the primary challenge for Ukraine. Alongside daily risks and losses, cold and darkness have become additional hardships—especially for families whose homes have been damaged or destroyed, households with young children, older people, persons with disabilities, and those facing difficult life circumstances without sufficient resources to prepare their homes for winter.
The “Winterization” project provides 350 winterization kits across two regions of Ukraine—the city of Dnipro (Dnipropetrovsk Oblast) and the Valky community in Kharkiv Oblast. The assistance targets vulnerable households living in damaged, temporary, or inadequately insulated housing.
The Public Resources and Initiatives Charity Foundation implements the project guided by the principles of timeliness and dignity in humanitarian assistance. The distributed winterization kits already translate into greater warmth and safety—offering the ability to stay warm, charge mobile phones, remain in contact with family members, and retain a sense of human support even in the most challenging circumstances.
The Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the financial support of the project. Special thanks also go to partners and team members who are working at the limit of their capacity to ensure that humanitarian assistance is delivered quickly, timely, and with genuine care for people.
