Supporting the Families of Fallen, Missing, and Captive Heroes

When we deliver food certificates to the families of fallen Heroes, those missing in action, and those currently in captivity, it is always very difficult to find the right words.

Because standing before you are not “categories of aid recipients.” Standing before you are mothers, wives, children, and parents. People who wake up every day with their pain, their waiting, and their memories. Some have already lost the dearest person in their life. Some are still waiting for news. Some live between hope and fear, without allowing themselves to give up.

Every day, the war takes our loved ones, friends, and acquaintances from us. It takes away voices, embraces, and the familiar messages: “How are you?”, “I’m already home,” “See you soon.” But it must not take away our ability to see one another. To stand by one another. To support each other with whatever we can offer today.

These certificates are a small form of assistance. We understand that. They will not take away the pain or provide answers to the hardest questions. But they are our way of saying: we remember. We are here. You are not alone in this.

We thank every family for a strength that cannot be described in words.

And we bow our heads in deep respect to our Heroes — those who gave their lives for Ukraine, those we are searching for, and those we are waiting for from captivity.

We hold on because we hold on to one another. 💙💛
