From War to Healing Herbs: How a Veteran Is Building a Business with Soul

Our native land does not simply hold us — it brings us back to life.

We became convinced of this when we visited Volodymyr Tsytrak, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war who has found new meaning in creating his own signature herbal teas.

We saw this magic with our own eyes. And what struck us most was the light in the eyes of a man who had gone through the hell of war but managed to preserve warmth within himself. Instead of weapons, he now holds healing herbs in his hands. Instead of destruction, he carries a sincere desire to make this world better, cozier, and warmer — even if only within the space of one fragrant cup of tea.

“His perseverance is a quiet but powerful manifesto of inner strength. He proves that veteran entrepreneurship is about quality, resilience, and a deep philosophy. We are glad that our Public Resources and Initiatives Charity Foundation was able to create real synergy with the Chernivtsi Regional Employment Center in supporting Volodymyr’s business. Today, we are witnessing the rapid development of this veteran-owned enterprise,” said Olena Tanasiichuk, President of the Public Resources and Initiatives Charity Foundation.

The teas by travjen.ua bring back inner peace, remind us of our roots and of the strength of the land that gives us the energy to live and create further, despite everything.

We are proud, inspired, and keeping our fingers crossed for the further growth of this incredible business! 🫖🇺🇦

As a reminder, Volodymyr took part in the Business School and won a grant within our project “Reintegration of War Veterans through the Creation of Educational Opportunities: Own for Our Own,” implemented by the Public Resources and Initiatives Charity Foundation in partnership with DVV International Ukraine with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office.
