Women’s Leadership in the EU: Experience, Mechanisms and Representation Practices

An online training session entitled “Women’s Leadership in the EU: Mechanisms and Representation Practices” was held as part of the project “Leadership School for Young Women in the Field of European Integration.”

A total of 51 participants from Kyiv, Chernivtsi and Dnipro joined the training.

During the session, the participants explored European mechanisms for women’s representation, practices supporting women’s leadership, and approaches to involving women in decision-making processes. Particular attention was paid to successful examples from European Union countries, effective tools for influence, and the possibilities for applying them in the Ukrainian context.

The participants actively engaged in the discussion, asked questions and shared their own experiences of involvement in public and professional life.

“It is important to us that the School participants not only gain knowledge about European approaches to women’s leadership, but also see practical mechanisms for influence and representation. Young women should be active participants in social and political processes, represent the interests of their communities and take part in decision-making. Training sessions like this help transform interest into confidence and concrete action,” said Olena Tanasiichuk, President of the Charity Foundation “Public Resources and Initiatives.”

The participants’ active engagement and the substantive discussions once again demonstrated that young women are eager to deepen their knowledge of the European Union, strengthen their leadership competencies and actively contribute to social change.

We sincerely thank all participants for their interest, openness to new experiences and active involvement. Further training modules, practical sessions, new connections and additional opportunities for the development of women’s leadership lie ahead.
