CF “Social Resources and Initiatives” took part in the XII International Symposium “Romanian-Ukrainian Relations”

On October 30-31, 2024, the XII International Symposium “Romanian-Ukrainian Relations: History and Present”, organized by the Union of Ukrainians of Romania and the Satumari branch of the Union of Ukrainians of Romania, was held in the Romanian city of Satu Mare.

Among the partners who participated in the organization of the symposium was the Charitable Foundation “Public Resources and Initiatives”.

   

The event included a roundtable discussion “Intensification of Romanian-Ukrainian bilateral relations in the current context. Economy. Culture. Administration. Education. European integration of Ukraine”.

During the plenary session, Polish scholar Oleh Beley spoke on the topic “Methodology of ‘nation-building from a test tube’ in the context of the modern Slavic discourse of Central and Southeastern Europe” and Ukrainian researcher Pavlo Fedaka on the topic “Political Rusynism as a threat to the national security of Ukraine and Romania”.

The symposium continued its work in four thematic sections:

  • Archeology;
  • History and international relations;
  • Ethnography and local history;
  • Literature, Linguistics and Education.

In the section on history and international relations, Serhiy Hakman, PhD in History, Associate Professor, Vice President of the Social Resources and Initiatives Foundation, Deputy Director of the Chernivtsi Regional Center for Advanced Training, spoke and moderated the discussion.
