"Ukraine – Romania: A Year of Resistance and Suffering, A Year of Support and Solidarity. The Case of Constanța"
From January to March 2023, the Public Resources and Initiatives Charitable Foundation participated, in partnership, in the organization and implementation of the International Round Table "Ukraine – Romania: A Year of Resistance and Suffering, A Year of Support and Solidarity. The Case of Constanța". The event was organized by the Constanța City Hall (Romania).
Context and Purpose
Marking the anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Constanța City Hall, together with its local and Ukrainian partners, organized public events aimed at demonstrating solidarity and support for Ukraine.
On March 2, 2023, commemorative events took place at the Ioan N. Roman County Library in Constanța, including photo exhibitions and the International Round Table "Ukraine – Romania: A Year of Resistance and Suffering, A Year of Support and Solidarity. The Case of Constanța."

1. Photo Exhibitions
Ukrainian partners organized two exhibitions:
- "The War in Ukraine Through Children's Eyes"
- Portrait exhibition "A Mother's Pain" by the All-Ukrainian Public Movement of Mothers and Relatives of ATO Participants "Berehynia"
2. Round Table
The International Round Table "Ukraine – Romania: A Year of Resistance and Suffering, A Year of Support and Solidarity. The Case of Constanța" featured two thematic panels:

The event gathered scholars, experts, government officials, representatives of civil society institutions from Romania and Ukraine, and Ukrainian war refugees.
3. Working Meeting at the "Black Sea House" Association
As part of the visit, a working meeting took place at the Black Sea House Association (Casa Mării Negre), Constanța, involving a delegation of scholars, educators, local government representatives, and civil society institutions from Chernivtsi, Dnipropetrovsk regions, and Kyiv.
The Black Sea House Association is a non-governmental analytical organization specializing in geopolitics and security in the Black Sea region. It has previously initiated international conferences with Ukrainian experts.
The meeting featured a frank discussion about the ongoing war, nine years of Ukrainian resistance and resilience, Romania’s support for Ukraine, and the fate of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
