XI International Symposium "Romanian-Ukrainian Relations: History and Modernity"

September 2022 – February 2023: Participation in the Organization and Implementation of the XI International Symposium "Romanian-Ukrainian Relations: History and Modernity"

From September 2022 to February 2023, preparations and implementation of the XI International Symposium "Romanian-Ukrainian Relations: History and Modernity" were carried out, including the preparation of scientific articles for the next volume of academic works based on the symposium’s proceedings.

On December 9-10, 2022, the XI International Symposium "Romanian-Ukrainian Relations: History and Modernity" took place in Satu Mare, Romania.

The event was attended by prominent officials who delivered welcoming speeches:

  • Mykola-Miroslav Petretskyi, Member of the Romanian Parliament, Chairman of the Union of Ukrainians in Romania
  • Tomas Ferenc Altfatter, Prefect of Satu Mare County
  • Gábor Kereskényi, Mayor of Satu Mare
  • Liviu Marta, Manager of the Satu Mare County Museum

The symposium covered traditional topics related to:

  • History and archaeology
  • Source studies
  • Language and literature
  • Education, science, and culture

A special section was dedicated to Russia’s war against Ukraine, reflecting its impact on bilateral Romanian-Ukrainian relations and broader geopolitical dynamics.

On behalf of the Public Resources and Initiatives Charitable Foundation, a welcome speech was delivered by Serhiy Hakman, Vice President of the Foundation, PhD in History, and Associate Professor. Additionally, Serhiy Hakman acted as the moderator for the History and International Relations section.

Following the conference, work continued on collecting materials for publication in the next volume of the scientific collection "Romanian-Ukrainian Relations: History and Modernity."
