June – December 2021: Participation in the Organization and Implementation of the X International Symposium "Romanian-Ukrainian Relations: History and Modernity"

From June to December 2021, preparations and implementation of the X International Symposium "Romanian-Ukrainian Relations: History and Modernity" were carried out. This included organizing the symposium and preparing the scientific proceedings based on its results.

Symposium Details

On September 10-11, 2021, the X International Symposium "Romanian-Ukrainian Relations: History and Modernity" took place in Satu Mare, Romania.

Opening Remarks

The participants were welcomed by:

  • Mykola-Miroslav Petretskyi – Member of the Romanian Parliament, Chairman of the Union of Ukrainians in Romania
  • Tomas Ferenc Altfatter – Prefect of Satu Mare County
  • Anatoliy Poloskov – Head of Zakarpattia Regional State Administration (Ukraine)
  • Vasyl Ivancho – Deputy Head of the Zakarpattia Regional Council (Ukraine)
  • Gábor Kereskényi – Mayor of Satu Mare
  • Liviu Marta – Manager of the Satu Mare County Museum

Key Themes and Academic Collaboration

Representatives of universities and research institutions highlighted the importance of Romanian-Ukrainian scientific cooperation and the need for organizing international academic conferences and seminars. Special emphasis was placed on joint publications and monographs, with the symposium’s proceedings holding a significant role in academic discourse on Romanian-Ukrainian relations.

Symposium Sections

The symposium was divided into three main thematic sections:

  1. History, Political Science, and International Relations
  2. Archaeology, Ethnology, and Cultural Studies
  3. Linguistics, Literary Studies, Education, and Arts

Each section featured presentations, discussions, and debates on various aspects of Romanian-Ukrainian relations.

The Public Resources and Initiatives Charitable Foundation was represented by Serhiy Hakman, Vice President of the Foundation. He also moderated the "History, Political Science, and International Relations" section.

Following the conference, work continued on collecting materials for publication in the scientific collection "Romanian-Ukrainian Relations: History and Modernity," Volume 10.
