Food Packages for Low-Income Individuals in the Khotyn Community

April – May 2021: Distribution of Food Packages to Low-Income Individuals in the Khotyn Community

During the pandemic and ongoing quarantine restrictions, people require psychological, economic, and social support. This is particularly true for low-income individuals, who face increased financial hardships.

Newly established communities, like Khotyn, are in a challenging position—they have gained greater autonomy in decision-making, but at the same time, they bear greater responsibility for their social welfare policies.

Humanitarian Support Initiative

To address this urgent need, food packages were distributed to low-income residents of Khotyn. This initiative was organized by the German charity organization Johanniter-Weihnachtstrucker (Johanniter) in cooperation with:

  • Eleos-Ukraine NGO Network
  • Charitable Foundation "Social Resources and Initiatives" (Eleos-Ukraine representative in Chernivtsi region)
  • Organizational support from the Khotyn City Council

May 2021: 150 food packages were distributed to the most vulnerable individuals in the community.

This initiative provided much-needed relief, ensuring that those in difficult financial situations had access to essential food supplies during these challenging times.
