October – December 2020: Project "Conflict Potential of Chernivtsi Region Amid Administrative-Territorial Reform and Socio-Economic Crisis"

Supported by the Eastern European Network of the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflicts (GPPAC)

Between October and December 2020, the Charitable Foundation "Social Resources and Initiatives" implemented a comprehensive analysis project on the conflict potential of the Chernivtsi region in the context of administrative-territorial reform and socio-economic challenges. This initiative was supported by GPPAC and carried out in collaboration with the Chernivtsi Expert Group on Conflict Prevention.

Key Activities

December 23, 2020 – Expert Group Meeting

The Chernivtsi Expert Group on Conflict Prevention convened at the initiative of the Charitable Foundation "Social Resources and Initiatives" and GPPAC.

Main discussion topic:

A draft information and analytical report titled "Conflict Potential of the Chernivtsi Region Amid Administrative-Territorial Reform and Socio-Economic Crisis" was presented.

Editing and Expert Review:

The report editing process was entrusted to Professor Anatoliy Kruglashov, Doctor of Political Sciences and Head of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Chernivtsi National University named after Yuriy Fedkovych.

Next Steps

Finalization and preparation for publication of the analytical report.

Agreement reached to discuss the report at:

  • The Regional Advisory Council on Ethnopolitics
  • The Chernivtsi Regional Council

This project provided valuable insights into regional conflict risks, helping shape evidence-based policy recommendations for ensuring stability and social cohesion in the region.
