Dnipro Hosts “Business from Scratch” Training for Veterans and Their Families

On 19 October, V.Rise Hub in Dnipro hosted “Business from Scratch”, a training session for veterans and their family members. Business trainer Oksana Palagecha led the session at the invitation of the Rise of Ukraine Charity Fund. The Public Resources and Initiatives Charity Foundation joined the initiative as a partner, continuing its work to support entrepreneurship within the veteran community.

The training brought together participants considering starting a business as a path to professional development and income generation. Throughout the day, they explored and tested business ideas, assessed their capabilities, and identified the first steps towards launching a business.

Particular attention was given to questions that arise before starting a business: how to determine whether there is demand for a product or service, what resources are needed, what preparations to make, and which mistakes can be avoided. This preparation helps participants turn an initial idea into a concrete plan and make an informed decision about starting their own business.

The programme also includes two individual career counselling sessions and mentoring support. This approach takes each person’s experience, needs, and circumstances into account and supports them as they take their next steps.

Business schools for veterans and their families remain one of the areas of work of the Public Resources and Initiatives Charity Foundation. Alongside its own programmes, the Foundation contributes to initiatives led by partner organisations, combining training with individual counselling and mentoring.

We thank the Rise of Ukraine Charity Fund for its partnership and our joint work in Dnipro. Bringing together our organisations’ experience and resources helps make support more accessible to the veteran community and creates more opportunities for professional development.
