Ukraine is celebrating the most beloved children's holiday - St. Nicholas Day - according to the new Julian calendar for the second time. That is why our Foundation began preparing for it back in October to have time to collect and purchase hundreds of gifts for children the war prevents from celebrating.
This year, the campaign significantly expanded its reach - both in the number of St. Nicholas’s helpers and children who received gifts. We sincerely thank the donors and benefactors for their financial support: Ukrainians from Colorado, the Jungle Gym sports club and Oleksandra Sandul, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ukraine, and many donors who help create a holiday for children.
Schoolchildren from Chernivtsi, Kyiv, and Dnipro have also joined the campaign. This is precisely an indicator of teachers' good work, children's sensitivity, and their parents' support. Hundreds of gifts collected by the children themselves have already been sent to the Kherson, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions.
The Chernivtsi Regional Universal Scientific Library named after M. Ivasiuk and the Ukrainian People's House have also joined in packaging and collecting holiday gifts.
A large-scale collection was organized by the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Diocese of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and children's Sunday schools, led by His Grace Bishop Feohnost and the clergy. The diocese's clergy have already delivered 650 gifts to Nikopol and Marhanets under artillery fire.
The campaign goes on. The kindness you give makes children happy!
