Opening enrollment for a retreat in the Carpathians for service members and their families

The AHALAR Center, within the project “Reintegration of veterans and veteranesses of war through the creation of educational opportunities: Our Own for Our Own,” invites service members, veterans, and their family members to take part in a retreat in the Carpathians — “Body. Resource. Balance.”

🫶 This is a space where you can exhale, release tension, feel yourself again, and find inner support.

WHEN?
🗓 October 29 – November 2.
🗓 November 5 – November 9.
🗓 November 30 – December 4.
🗓 December 7 – December 11.
🗓 December 14 – December 18.

WHERE?
📍 Slavske, Lviv Oblast, on the premises of the “MS 6 Creative Residence.”

FOR WHOM?

• Participants (men and women) in combat operations.
• Family members of service members (husband/wife, children, parents), including those of the fallen or missing.

WHAT WILL WE DO?

The retreat program is created especially for those who have gone through wartime experience and need deep psychological and physical recovery.
It combines:

• Art therapy and creative methods for expressing and integrating what has been lived through.
• Body-oriented and somatic practices to relieve tension and restore a sense of stability.
• Movement and dance as a way to release blocked emotions and restore contact with oneself.
• Breathing techniques and mindfulness practices to reduce stress levels.

We will work with bodily reactions, emotions, sounds, smells, in order to restore inner balance and resource.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

Combat experience often leaves deep traces in the body and psyche. Our retreat will help to:

• reduce the level of accumulated stress,
• restore the sense of safety and control,
• find new strength and motivation,
• restore the emotional connection with yourself and your loved ones.

THE ORGANIZERS WILL CONDUCT A SELECTION AND INFORM YOU ABOUT THE DATES OF THE RETREAT TO WHICH YOU WILL BE INVITED.

Application deadline: August 31, 2025 or until the cohort of 20 applicants is filled.

The selection results will be sent to your email by the end of September 2025.
