Strengthening Team Professional Competencies: Project Management Training Held at the Foundation

As part of a systematic effort to strengthen the institutional capacity of the team of the Public Resources and Initiatives Charity Foundation, a training session titled “Project Management in Humanitarian Initiatives” was conducted.

The event was implemented within the framework of the project Strengthening the Institutional Capacity of the Public Resources and Initiatives Charity Foundation, carried out by the Foundation with technical support from UN Women in Ukraine and financial support from the United Nations Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF).

The training brought together 25 representatives of the Foundation’s team from different regions of Ukraine — Kyiv, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Lviv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and other cities where the Foundation implements its projects, including frontline areas.

Given the geographically distributed nature of the team, such joint training activities are critically important for strengthening the organization’s institutional capacity. This is not only an opportunity to enhance professional competencies, but also a key tool for ensuring alignment of approaches, improving coordination among regional teams, and establishing unified standards for project implementation.

During the training, participants deepened their knowledge on:

  • types of humanitarian projects and different management approaches;
  • operational management and the aid delivery cycle;
  • working with diverse target groups;
  • scaling initiatives and building partnerships.

Special attention was given to practical tools that help increase team efficiency in the challenging conditions of wartime, ensure sustainability of results, and promote effective use of resources.

“For me, this training was an opportunity to systematize my experience and look at our work in a more structured way. We often operate under constant change and high workload, and these tools help us stay focused, set the right priorities, and work more effectively as a team,” said Nataliia Heiman, the Foundation’s representative in the city of Dnipro.

Such trainings create space for joint analysis of challenges, exchange of practices, and development of solutions, which directly contributes to the effectiveness, accountability, and sustainability of the Foundation’s program activities. They also strengthen horizontal connections within the team, enhance the sense of unity, and ensure more coordinated work across regions.

Conducting such training activities is part of the Foundation’s strategic approach to developing the professional competencies of its team. Continuous capacity building enables the organization to ensure high-quality project implementation, meet the highest standards of work in the humanitarian sector, and effectively respond to the challenges faced by communities.
